I feel like no one in DC asks “will we win the war in Iraq.” They ask “what will it take to win the war in Iraq.” The same should be true for EVs, don’t ask “will we be able to sell 1 million EVs by 2015.” Ask “what will it take to sell 1 million EVs by 2015.”

Chelsea, your point on organizing infrastructure is well noted. I propose YOU be the one to head up the DC task force team or at least help by designing an outline along with time frames in mind to implement these plans. It will create more jobs in energy, education, technology, sales, etc. We can’t let government red tape slow down the process. I LOVE the idea of instant rebates at time of purchase! For whomever needs more incentives, let’s just remind them that according to industry experts, oil has already peaked and we need new alt-fueled cars en mass on the road in what will seem like overnight even though it’s taken us years to get there (and no one knows this better than you Chelsea.)

I think we’ll get there. I would be surprised if Gas prices do not trend upward over the next 4 years, with occassional spikes- that will push a lot of folks to EVs I think.

By comparison, how many EVs were sold during the EV period, from 99 to 03, about? I think when compared to that time period, we are off to a good start!
